Sympathy is extended to the family of a former Jerilderie resident who died in Cobram on May 17.
Ada Tyson, formerly Dalrymple and nee Collier, died peacefully at Ottrey Regional Care, at the age of 97.
Ada and her first husband Bill Dalrymple, moved from Griffith to ‘Glenwherry’ in Broughshane Lane, Mairjimmy, in 1954.
They farmed there until 1984.
They then retired to their new home in Mahonga St, Jerilderie. Bill died in 1990.
Ada was a keen golfer, and member of Jerilderie CWA.
Ada married Alan Tyson in 2000, and moved to Cobram to be closer to her family. Alan died in 2018.
Ada and Bill had three children - Sandra Sullivan, Cobram; Annette Foster, Perth; and Rodney Dalrymple, Cobram.
Ada was laid to rest in the Griffith Lawn Cemetery.

Murrumbidgee Council has welcomed Kaitlin Salzke as its new chief financial officer.
Kaitlin moved to Jerilderie recently with her family, and is looking forward to becoming part of the organisation and the wider community.

The St Joseph’s School community, with lots of outside assistance, has managed to hold the fort and keep the flag flying during a COVID outbreak at the school.
Principal Helene Cahill will be on leave until term three.
In her absence, the acting principals will be Bernadette Murphy on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and Keisha Marshall on Wednesdays.

The Jerilderie Bowls Club AGM will be held on Monday, June 27 at the Jerilderie Sports club, at 7pm. Members and non-members will be most welcome.

Congratulations to the seven recipients of this year’s Murrumbidgee Council’s Education Scholarship Programme.
Carissa Bellato, Riley Belling, Austin Mauger, Alex A’Vard, Thomas Gill, Danielle Mannes, and Phoebe White were all considered worthy applicants for this year’s scholarship, which will help them on their way to achieving their career aspirations.

The Jerilderie Public School Debating Team had a convincing win over Deniliquin South Primary School recently, in round one of the 2022 Premier’s Debating challenge.
The JPS team of Jacinta, Sama, Tye, Stella and Evan was debating the negative, on the subject ‘School holidays should only be eight weeks’.
