Students of Tocumwal’s Public School and Sacred Heart Primary School competed in Tocumwal Lions Club Junior Public Speaking competition on Sunday.
Students in years 3/4 presented a three-minute speech about being a giant for a day.
The year 5/6 students presented a four-minute speech about a strange world record.
5/6 then prepared an impromptu one-minute speech about what job they want when they are older.
Judges Wayne Duff and Clare Hallett deliberated for some time before Joel Harrison and Layla Harrison were announced as the 3/4 and 5/6 winners respectively.
Joel spoke about his day as a giant after eating donuts at the Tocumwal Market, while Layla spoke about the strange world record of the couple who had 69 children.
Both will go on to represent Tocumwal at the Regional Final in August.
