Last weekend the Origin Charity Golf Day held at the Jerilderie Sports Club raised over $5000 for two worthy local charities - The Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary and Lord Mayors Children's Portsea Camp.

The funds will help purchase vital medical equipment for the local hospital and financially support young people to attend the camp next January.
The Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary committee and the administrators of the Portsea Camp committee wish to express their thanks to all those responsible for the hard work making the day possible.

The Jerilderie Red Cross held a free morning tea at the library on Wednesday, one of many more to come.
The aim for the morning tea is to thank the community for their support with the Red Cross raffles.
The next morning tea is set to be announced soon.

The Jerilderie Football Netball Club is hitting the road this Saturday playing Dookie away.
The club is currently participating in the PDFNL giveaway of two tickets to the BIG Freeze match at the MCG on Monday, June 8.
To enter the competition, purchase an ‘MND Big Freeze 12’ beanie from the club.
They are available to purchase at Thursday night training nights, or contact Eden via the Just Jerilderie email if Thursdays aren't suitable. Stock is limited.

Jerilderie Public School is hosting a ‘Thank a First Responder Day’ event on June 10, from 12.30pm - 1.30pm.
First responders and members within the community are invited to attend a sausage sizzle.
For catering purposes, the school asks that RSVPs be received by May 31, by calling 5886 1331.

The Golf, Bowls and Big Freeze Day is set for Sunday, June 28.

Sad news received on the death of Justin Sheed in Shepparton on Monday, May 18 after a long illness.
Justin is the youngest son of Paul and Sheila Sheed, who lived in Jerilderie for many years, raising their family, and running Pittfour Restaurant at the family farm.
The Sheeds were very involved in local affairs, the Catholic Church and farming groups.
Justin's younger sister Suzannah is well known in political circles in Shepparton, where she is a successful family lawyer.
Justin's funeral is in Shepparton at St Brendan's Catholic Church on Thursday, May 28 at 1pm.

Parishioners of St Joseph's Catholic Church are advised that the 8.30am Mass on Sunday, May 31 will be the school's Year 5/6 Mass, and families will join parishioners for morning tea after Mass.
Parishioners are encouraged to attend the 10am Mass in Finley on Sunday, June 7, to be celebrated with Berrigan, Finley, Tocumwal and Jerilderie parishes, for the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ.
Due to this gathering, there will be no Saturday night Mass in Jerilderie that weekend.

Exciting new business opportunities are arising in Nowranie St, with the opening of Riverina Repairs.
Owners and long-time locals Adam Sweeney and his wife Amy Foley are very ecstatic with their new venture, servicing the community's mechanical needs.
Adam is the son of Colin and Tracey Sweeney, and has previously worked as the mechanic at Jerilderie Motors.
