The SRC set a target of raising $5000 for the term.
Events that contributed to the tally included a bake sale, trivia night, a raffle and collecting recycling for the 10c return and earn program.
The Big Freeze was the finale event, given the funding is assigned to be donated to Fight MND.
The day started with great excitement as students watched the dunk tank beginning to fill up.
Nominees were to be dunked into a tank filled with ice.
New dunk ‘victims’ were added as the tally reached certain targets.
School administration officer Sasha Congram said teachers and students alike faced the dunk tank.
Finley Primary School was also invited to participate, with some of its teachers braving the icy waters too - Mrs King, Mr Murphy and Mr Hawkins.
“There was a great buzz of excitement when both schools were waiting for the freeze to begin,” she said.
“Mrs King was the first teacher to be dunked with much cheering and laughter.
Following Mrs King were Mr Johnson, Miss Perry, Mr Maslen, Gayle Ferguson, Mr Murphy, Ms Laxton, Abbey Breust, Mr Tobin, Miss Knight, Louisa Quiddington, Mr King, Mrs Sharp, Mr Hawkins, Mrs Sexton, Mr Whitty and Mr Ward.
“Highlights were Mr Tobin being dunked by his eight year-old son Archie, and Mr Murphy being dunked by Mrs Taig.
“We had some fabulous costumes this year too. Abbey, Louisa and Gayle were dressed as Elsa, Anna and Olaf (from Frozen).
“Mrs Sharp was dressed as a shark and Mrs Sexton was Buzz Lightyear.”
Keeping the water icy throughout the event were 20 bags of ice donated by Grant Wilson from Tuppal Dairy.
The SRC entertained the crowd with a range of games and music in between the dunkings.
“After a total count of the money raised, we realised we had raised $7587,” Ms Congram said.
“We want to thank all the businesses who supported our MND fundraiser.”
Contributing to the total was a raffle.
The grand prize was won by Michael Taylor, who will experience Tocumwal from above in Tocumwal Aviation Museum’s historic Cessna O-1G Birddog, with a 30 minute adventure flight along the Mighty Murray River.
