The Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel is set to host its much-loved annual Spring Fete on Sunday, November 2, from 9am to 12pm.

Held on the grounds of the hostel, the fete offers a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of stalls, raffles, entertainment, and homemade treats. Whether you are a regular attendee or a first-time visitor, the event has something for everyone.
The fete is one of the hostel’s main fundraisers and helps provide the ‘little extras’ that bring joy and comfort to hostel residents.
There will be arts and crafts, produce, cakes and slices, and a white elephant stall.
Organisers are seeking volunteers to assist with the event. Family members and locals are encouraged to help with stalls, contribute baked goods, assist with set-up, or simply lend their time and enthusiasm on the day. All contributions are warmly appreciated.
Those interested in volunteering can get in touch by calling the hostel on (03) 5874 3650.

A gathering of past and present Tocumwal Community Op-Shop volunteers and members enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Tocumwal RSL Club on Monday, October 13.
The ladies caught up with working buddies from years gone by for an incredibly enjoyable time together.
Mrs Eva Pecker was the most senior guest at 101 years of age. Eva worked with Mrs Estha Bryant and Mrs Evelyn Herbert (dec).
Members Maria Elphinstone, Elizabeth Urquhart and Joy Williams each received a Certificate of Appreciation for many years of volunteering.
Thank you to everyone who attended and the Tocumwal RSL Club for providing such an appropriate venue for the gathering.

The Murray River Paddle event is back this November, running from November 16 to 21, with paddlers travelling from Yarrawonga to Koondrook and stopping at several towns along the way, including Tocumwal and Gunbower.
Local paddler Mark Gowty is once again taking part and for the third time will be raising funds for Tocumwal Can Assist.
In support of Mark’s efforts, a social fundraising event will be held at the Farmer's Arms Hotel on Sunday, November 16 from 12pm to 3pm. Entry is $20 per person and includes a barbecue lunch, entertainment by Steve Bell, a lucky door prize and more.
Funds raised will be handed over to Mark when he arrives at the Old Boat Ramp in Tocumwal on the afternoon of November 17.
Community members are invited to come along and show their support.

The Tocumwal War Memorial Hall will soon transform into a hub of fashion and sustainability, as it hosts a Used Name Brand and Designer Clothing Sale on Saturday, November 15, from 8am to 1pm.
The event is organised in partnership with the Lions Club of Tocumwal and coincides with the Tocumwal Town Garage Sale, creating a unique opportunity for those interested to refresh their wardrobes.
Aimed at those with overflowing closets or unused fashion pieces, the event encourages residents to repurpose their high-quality clothing and accessories in a stylish and practical way.
Stallholders can rent a 2.5m x 2.5m site for $30, which includes a 2m trestle table and two chairs. Sellers are expected to bring their own racks, full-length mirrors, hangers, shopping bags, and cash floats.
All clothing and accessories for sale must be name brand or designer, and in good, clean condition. Items will be labelled using standard second-hand codes such as BNWT (Brand New With Tags) and GCHW (Good Condition, Hardly Worn), along with clear pricing.
The event will be promoted across towns within a 100-kilometre radius in the weeks leading up to the sale, with organisers expecting a strong turnout of eager shoppers. Entry for buyers is $2 cash, which also includes a copy of the Tocumwal Town Garage Sale map.
This initiative is designed to encourage sustainable fashion, support local causes, and provide a platform for fashion-conscious sellers and buyers to connect. All proceeds will go towards supporting the Lions Club of Tocumwal.
Setup for stallholders will be available on Friday November 14 from 4pm to 6pm, and again on the morning of the event from 7am. With only six sites available, organisers are urging interested sellers to book early.
To secure a stall or learn more, please email tocumwalwmhall@gmail.com or contact Sue on 0409 314 174.
