His story - marked by crime, addiction and years spent in the prison system - has become a powerful example of personal transformation and the impact structured support can have on individuals and families.
Lyndon‑James rebuilt his life and began helping men facing the same struggles he once lived through. In the past 15 years, the program has helped hundreds of people rebuild their lives.
He is now an author and speaker, sharing the lessons learned from decades of lived experience.
Event organiser John Everingham said securing Mr Lyndon‑James was a win for the Finley community.
“I’d been told it would be very hard to get Peter, due to his very busy schedule. I rang, we talked for 15 minutes and he agreed,” he said.
“The week after he’s in Finley, he will fly to London, and then he will be spending November in the USA.
“He has quite an amazing amount of life experience.”
Although the dinner is a men’s only event, Lyndon‑James will also speak at Finley Community Church on the Sunday prior, giving the wider community an opportunity to hear his story.
Mr Everingham said the dinner continues to be an important annual gathering for local men to talk and reflect on life, experiences, and emotions.
The dinner will be held at Finley RSC from 6.30pm, with tickets $40 per person including a two‑course meal.
Bookings are essential, with organisers strongly encouraging men to secure their place early to avoid missing out.
Bookings can be made online, and payment at the door is also available by phoning John Everingham on 0407 830 030.
