Molly Walker, who has recently represented Australia at the 2025 TYR Summer Pro Series in Irvine, USA, has achieved the goal of a lifetime - breaking a 40 year-old SA record.
Set in 1985 by Olympian Anna McVann, the women’s 1500m Freestyle has stood the test of time and is now credited to Molly with a time of 16:18:38.
On top of this Molly also won two gold and two silver.

The Berrigan Show committee wish to thank the community for their support of the street stall last Friday.
Winners of the raffle were Mary Curtin (first) and Katie Vandermeer.
Funds raised go toward the annual show on October 5.
At this year’s show, the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour will be set up for patrons to get up close and personal to.
To complement this, there are several Melbourne Cup/horse racing themed competitions at the show this year.

The Berrigan and District Development Association will be holding its AGM on Wednesday, August 27, from 7pm at the Federal Hotel. All welcome.
The BDDA is also busy preparing for the ‘Welcome to Berrigan’ barbecue on Sunday, September 28 from 12pm.
This is a great opportunity for new and returning residents of Berrigan to meet and learn what hidden gems exist in our community.
Although the event is free to attend, bookings will be taken from September 1.
In the meantime, the next ‘Meet and Greet’ at the Berrigan Library will be held on Thursday, August 28 from 10.30am.
If you are new to the area, head along and enjoy morning tea and learn about the area.

The Berrigan War Memorial Swimming Pool will be holding its AGM on Monday, August 25, at the Berrigan Library at 7.30pm.
The committee is looking for new members to help for the upcoming season, and moving into the future.
If you can spare some time to help for the pool season, please head along.

Congratulations to the thirds football side who won their elimination final on Sunday against Katamatite by two points.
The boys held on to the end and displayed a never give up performance.
They will now have a week off and play the following weekend.
Good luck to the firsts and fourths footballers and under-17 netballers who will play this weekend.
