Today, there are many churches that steer away from discussing the reality of hell; it is not a popular subject.
In our scripture above we are forced to confront the reality of hell. We are told that we are not to fear people who try to kill our human bodies but instead we should fear the one who can deliver us into hell.
I am confident that if anyone was asked where they wanted to go at the end of their life, heaven or hell, they would choose heaven. Who in their right mind would seriously want to go to a place of eternal torment and destruction?
The truth is, according to Christian belief, God created mankind with a free will. He didn’t create robots, he gave us all the gift of choice.
Thankfully, God loved us so much that he sent his Son Jesus into hell for three days so we never have to go there. Jesus conquered sin, death and hell for us.
By God’s grace we can all be saved. Being good won’t get you into heaven. Jesus is the only bridge that leads to heaven.
The only decision we have to make, according to John 3:16 is, do we believe in Him? Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross to pay the price for your sins by His shed blood?
A positive response to this question opens the door that leads to eternal life with Christ in heaven. Have you made a choice?
