Finley Regional Care will be conducting a ‘Spring Fair with Flair’ this Saturday, October 21 and an invitation is extended to all members of the local community and surrounding areas.

The fair will be held in the grounds at 26 Dawe Ave, Finley from 10am until 2pm and everyone is welcome.
Stall sites are still available, and anyone interested in having a stall is asked to contact Holly or Ruth on (03) 5883 9600.
With spring in the air and lots of great produce and craft available, this promises to be a pleasant way to spend time with family and friends while creating revenue to provide extra facilities for the residents.

The Langunyah/Finley Red Cross ladies were once again stationed outside the Finley High School Hall last Saturday, voting day, selling raffle tickets to raise funds.
Winner of the $100 was Madeline Knight.
One notable absence was that of the late Mrs Rosemary McCaw, who has been seen at the table on voting occasions for many years.

Finley Lions Club has taken on yet another worthy project to assist the local community.
It has now made available, at no cost, an Emergency Medical Information Book which can be magnetically attached to the fridge.
These are available from the Finley Medical Centre as well as the Finley Pharmacy.
The emergency booklet can be used to record details such as patient information, medications, medical conditions and service provider/patient history.
Members of the community are encouraged to pick up one of these books, particularly the elderly and those living alone.
The procedure for calling 000 in an emergency is also explained.

Father Paul Lu, parish priest of Finley and Tocumwal, would like to advise that on Thursday, November 2, to commemorate All Souls Day, a Mass will be celebrated at Finley Cemetery at 5.30pm.
Mass will also be celebrated at Tocumwal’s St Peter’s Catholic Church at 9am and at Tocumwal Cemetery at noon.
Anyone who would like deceased members of family and friends to be remembered at these services is asked to email stmaryspfinley@gmail.com or fill out a November envelope located at both churches, as soon as possible.

A small gathering organised by John Everingham and members of the Finley Community Church was held at Finley Memorial Park last Sunday to show support for the people of Israel and awareness of the current conflict taking place.
John touched on the history of war in and against Israel with he and Ben Everingham, together with Mick Wane, reading passages from the bible and asking those present to join in prayer for all who are suffering.

Bill and Jan Braybon celebrated 67 years of marriage at the weekend.
Seventy-five members of the Braybon family gathered at the Finley RS Club last Saturday to help Bill and Jan Braybon celebrate their very special wedding anniversary, which occurred on October 13.
Sixty-seven years ago, the couple were married in St Mary’s Catholic Church Finley with Frank Kelly and Gordon Durham acting as groomsmen.
Theresa Thomas, who was present at the luncheon on Saturday, and Nancy Glover were Jan’s bridesmaids.
Jock Braybon was proud to act as altar boy.
Bill and Jan were delighted to have all their children - Chris, George, Maree, Kevin, Kate and Peter - with them for the celebration, together with all their nieces and nephews.
Eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren make the family complete.
The lovely luncheon at the club was organised by their great niece Kate Murray.
