VicEmergency has updated its advice to say the threat has reduced.
According to VicEmergency, three fire trucks remain at the scene.
EARLIER: Fourteen fire trucks, as well as firebombing helicopters, are fighting a grass fire at St Germains on Wednesday, January 7.
A spokesperson from the State Control Centre said emergency services were alerted to the fire shortly after 1.10pm.
The fire is burning in paddocks along Echuca Rd, between Byrneside-Gillieston Rd and Mulcahy Rd.
It is travelling in a south-westerly direction.
Fourteen CFA fire trucks were fighting the fire, along with air support.
The fire, which had burnt just over four hectares, was declared under control at 2.15pm.
VicEmergency has issued a ‘stay informed’ alert for the St Germains and Undera areas.
Smoke may be visible from nearby roads and communities.
The alert said that while there was currently no threat to people, those in the areas should stay informed and monitor conditions.
People should also keep roads in the area clear so emergency services can respond.
