A total of 35 modified tractors and five modified mowers are entered for Saturday night’s program, with competitors travelling from across Victoria, South Australia and Queensland to take on the Finley track, a favourite on the Down Under Modified Tractor Pulling Association calendar.
Gates open at 3pm, with modified mowers hitting the dirt from 5pm before the main pulling action fires up at 6pm.
Now in its 22nd year, the event remains a major drawcard for the region, and the Finley Community Tractor Pull Committee has again spent months preparing the grounds, equipment and facilities.
Committee member Paul “Flippa” Dundon said the team is ready for a massive night.
“We’re looking forward to a good evening,” he said.
“It should be a nice cool evening for tractor pulling, a raw horsepower event.”
Mr Dundon said spectators can expect serious machinery and plenty of noise.
“There’ll be some pretty intense drag engines out there,” he said.
“Get your backside trackside.”
The event is fully catered, with food trucks, grandstand seating, and the ever‑popular Pullers Bar operating throughout the night.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs or picnic rugs, but no BYO alcohol is permitted.
Mr Dundon said the tractor pull continues to be a major boost for the community.
“Bring yourself and your family and feel the power while helping raise funds for the local community,” he said.
Last year’s event drew a crowd of around 1200 people, and organisers are hopeful of matching or exceeding that number this weekend.
Tickets will be available at the gate, and the pit area will be open to the public from 3pm to 5.30pm.
