The FRC team has been acknowledged for it’s commitment to culture and staff support during a trying year for those in aged care.
FRC was announced as a state/territory winner in the 2021 Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA) Aged Care Awards.
It was officially nominated as the Regional, Rural, Remote (RRR) Provider of the Year for NSW/ACT, for its ‘‘positive work culture and exemplary care’’.
FRC CEO Ben Levesque said this focus on cultural improvements was rewarding for all.
‘‘The program has focused on gratitude and recognition for positive outcomes for all,’’ he said.
‘‘The outcomes have been outstanding, with the team being energised in trying times and when fatigue was showing.
‘‘The power of a thank you cannot be underestimated, and bringing fun into the workplace is essential.
‘‘One of the most valuable outcomes is when we adopted the practice of Make Their Day.
‘‘This encourages us to look for ways to make somebody’s day better, which is what we are working toward every day with our residents and clients.
‘‘Additionally, when we practice Make Their Day on a particularly bad day, it lifts all of us.
‘‘The reward from making someone’s day has so much power and joy.’’
