Its first ever open day will be held Wednesday, October 29, from 10am to 4pm, at 26 Dawe Avenue, Finley.
The event, themed around ‘Care, Community & Connection’, will showcase the full scope of services offered by both Finley Aged Care and the Finley Medical Centre, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at how the facility supports residents and the broader community.
Finley Regional Care coordinator, Lisa Clark, said the day is about opening the doors and starting conversations.
“People can come and have a look at what happens here,” she said.
“Whether you’re thinking about going into care, need more information, or are just a curious community member, just come have a chat.”
The open day will feature tours of the facility, meet and greets with residents, and information stalls covering everything from aged care and retirement living to allied health and community support services.
Groups such as the Men’s Shed, Women’s Auxiliary, and Dementia Alliance will be on hand to demonstrate their involvement, with residents proudly displaying projects they’ve worked on in collaboration with these organisations.
Throughout the day, residents will be actively participating in various activities, offering visitors a chance to engage with them directly and hear their stories.
A local history display will also be featured, celebrating the heritage and identity of Finley and its people.
To keep the atmosphere festive, there’ll be a sausage sizzle, treats and refreshments, and lucky door prizes up for grabs.
The event is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, with Finley Regional Care hoping to foster stronger ties between the facility and the wider community.
“There’s been so much support already. We’re really looking forward to welcoming the community into the family.”
Volunteers are still needed for the day, so get in touch with Finley Regional Care on (03) 5883 9600.
