If the first two performances of Finley Amateur Dramatic And Musical Society’s (FADAMS) 2025 production, ‘The Curse of The Mummy’ is any indication, the remaining two shows should be a sell-out.

They are scheduled for the evenings of Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14.
At this stage there are still some tables available for bookings so those intending to go are urged to call into Con Carr’s and see Sally as soon as possible.
The opening night on Saturday was well received with many favourable comments from those in attendance.
As usual, first night nerves were apparent; however this only added to the fun and enjoyment of the show.
The organisers and the cast are to be congratulated on the time and commitment put into the presentation.
There were several new faces in the show who showed just what you can do when you give it a go.
Some of the experienced performers such as Ross Whittaker, Peter Ryan, Kristen Thow and Tracy Anderson took the newcomers under their wing which resulted in the story being told with much laughter and enjoyment.
Natalie Silsbury, playing Miss Georgina Nolan, and Nikita Brook were outstanding leaders with the singing.
Jacqueline Mackay and Tony Turner excelled in their roles as the troublemakers, Helen Wastle as the maid/cook was extremely entertaining and Di Crawford’s performance as one of Miss Georgina Nolan’s friends easily outshines that of her son, Shane Crawford in his new role in the TV show The House of Wellness.
Janet Delmenico and Patsy Doyle also excelled as members of the group of friends.
Denis Hams had his work cut out amongst the girls, and Karen Peacock kept them all on track as prompter.
Kristen, in the role of Roger, had the crowd in stitches with his usual entertaining antics.
Full credit must also go to Cassidy Sibraa who did a wonderful job with makeup. She had Ruma and Ra’an, the villains, looking particularly scary the way she did their faces.
Grahame Shumack and Darryl Ocampo did a magnificent job of managing the lighting and sound, having been enticed to take part without a great deal of experience.
Several comments were made on the costumes, many done by Tracy and embellished by each individual cast member.
Rumour has it that some were even procured from the Finley Hospital Auxiliary Op shop!
The story begins with the writings of Miss Georgina Nolan in her diary of the legend of how Karaan is imprisoned in his tomb.
It unfolds in her father, Professor Reginald Nolan’s (Peter Ryan) drawing room, and he travels to Egypt to search for treasure in the tomb of Karaan.
The tomb is guarded by Ruma (Jacqueline Mackay) and Ra’an (Tony Turner) who, along with the mummy (Ross Whittaker), attempts to marry the professor’s daughter to the Karaan. The mummy has other ideas!
To find out how the intriguing events come together, you will need to make a booking to go along and enjoy the performance.
The members of FADAMS have been entertaining not only the Finley community but also other towns in the surrounding district for many years.
Originally, the Finley Dramatic Society and the Finley Musical Society were two individual entities. However, it eventually became more practical to amalgamate to become incorporated.
As well as the night shows, there is always an afternoon matinee to allow families with young children and the older members of the communities who find it difficult to go out at night to be able to enjoy the show.
And, of course, the show would not be able to go on without the input of so many others becoming involved.
The organisers would like to thank Lawrence Walsh for his assistance with printing tickets and flyers, Gary Carr for assistance with the lighting/show recording, Sally Carr for selling tickets (not an easy task) and Kelly Lawler for help with the advertising.
So, remember, if you are anticipating attending one of the remaining two shows, make sure you book your tickets at Con Carr’s Electrical as soon as possible.
It would be disastrous to miss out!
