These LHAC forums are a highlight of the calendar year for co-sponsors Murrumbidgee Local Health District and the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network, and LHAC members representing 21 communities in the Southern Riverina to share experiences, thoughts and ideas.
The forum represented the strong partnership that has emerged between MLHD, MPHN and the community to support wellness and health.
The theme for the Finley forum was ‘Build stronger communities with inspired thinking’.
This afforded an opportunity to build on conversations, collect ideas and information, and re-charge, ready to focus on how best to plan to provide better care and access to health for people in our region.
NSW Minister for Regional Health, Mental Health and Women Bronnie Taylor was the keynote speaker, and the forum also included a focus on youth in our communities and their aspirations and expectations for future health provisions.

Just a reminder that the Berrigan Shire Dementia Alliance (formerly the Finley Dementia Alliance) will be recommencing their monthly morning teas in Berrigan.
These are held at the home of Muriel and David Rockliff - 2 Alexandra Avenue, Berrigan - with the first meeting from 10am to noon on Wednesday, October 12.
These morning teas provide a relaxed, non-threatening environment where people with a diagnosis of dementia - and their carers and relatives - can come to talk about their day-to-day challenges with members of the alliance. These members have all had previous experience in this field.
While this gathering is being held in Berrigan, it is open to residents from all towns in the shire.
Please RSVP by Monday to Tanya Dunn on 0427 752 496 for catering purposes.
If you do decide at the last minute to attend, you will still be most welcome.
