Finley Lions Club President Steve McRae and Need for Feed founder Graham Cockerell.
What a magnificent sight for anyone who was out and about in Finley early on Saturday morning; with 28 semi-trailers loaded with bales of hay leaving the show grounds just as the sun was rising.

It was another convoy of trucks from Lions Need For Feed Australia, which stayed overnight in Finley on the way to Gladstone, South Australia.
A video of the trucks departing filmed by Phillip Radford, one of the drivers involved, was displayed on the Need for Feed Australia Facebook page drawing attention to our wonderful community.
Finley Lions Club has provided evening meals and breakfast on each occasion of these stopovers, thus supporting the project in their own way.
Lions Club member Graham Cockerell, the founder of the movement, was so impressed by the hospitality from members of Finley Lions Club in January that he decided to make the overnight break here again.
As in the previous convoy, there were volunteer drivers and helpers from many areas including Kyneton, Horsham, Hallam and Invergordon. The support given to those in need was clearly evident with the 28 trucks fully loaded with donated hay going to farmers experiencing hard times.
Finley Little Athletics Club is extremely proud of the achievements of all its members. However, it is especially proud of the seven members who have qualified to take part in the State Finals at the State Track and Field Championships this month.
Flynn Rourke, William McGuinness, Levi Jakeman, Thomas Bain, Madison Simpson, Amber Lawlor and Tehya Kelly will be travelling to Sydney Olympic Park over two weekends: March 15/16 and March 22/23.
Flynn will take part in the high jump; William the javelin; Levi the high jump, long jump and triple jump; Thomas the javelin; Madison the triple jump; Amber the 300 hurdles and Tehya the discus.
“All of our athletes have done an amazing job so far to get to this level of competition and should be very proud of their efforts. We are behind them all as they compete at the NSW state championships. Congratulations to all of them on such a big achievement,” said social media officer Ashley Jakeman.
Please note - the Finley Little Athletics Club would also like to advise the annual general meeting will be held at the club track on Friday, March 28 at 5.30pm. New members welcome.

Finley Amateur Dramatic and Musical Society (FADAMS) president Ross Whittaker was a little disappointed that there was such a small response to the appeal in last week’s From Finley for assistance and participation in this year’s production of‘The Curse of the Mummy’.
“Unfortunately, we can’t pay people to take part; however, it would be very much appreciated if we could have a few more members of the community show an interest and come along on Thursday evenings at 7pm at the Finley School of Arts Hall,” Ross said.
Some roles have been allocated, however the group is in urgent need of more members to guarantee the success of the play.
Further information can be obtained by contacting Ross on 0419 649 508.

Also, a reminder that ex-Finleyite, Susan Mackie/Tyrrell, will be returning to the Finley Library next Wednesday, March 19 to meet with members of the community at 1.30pm.
Susan, author of the best-selling Barrington Series books, came to Finley in 1972 as a young girl with her parents Marian and Gordon Tyrrell. She attended Finley Primary School and Finley High School before taking a position as a cadet journalist with the Southern Riverina News.
She wanted to be an author from the age of eight, however her careers’ teacher at the High School advised her to take up journalism as being an author “was not a real job”.
Members of Finley CWA will provide afternoon tea at a cost of $5 per person. All welcome to attend.
