Tocumwal Rotary is pleased to welcome its two incoming Rotary Youth Exchange students for 2026, Kotaro from Japan and Margaux from Belgium.

Kotaro arrived at the end of July and has already begun experiencing Australian life. He has enjoyed roast pork, KFC and some famous local bakery pies and cakes.
While he gave those meals a big thumbs up, Vegemite on toast was not quite to his taste.
Margaux has also arrived safely and is looking forward to beginning her exchange year in Australia.
During the coming months, she will live with local host families, attend Cobram Secondary College and experience life in a rural Australian community.
The Rotary Youth Exchange program provides young people with the opportunity to immerse themselves in another culture, build lifelong friendships and gain a greater understanding of the world.
Throughout their exchange, both students will become part of the Tocumwal community while sharing their own cultures and traditions with local families, schools and community groups.
Tocumwal Rotary encourages community members to make both Kotaro and Margaux feel welcome.
If you see them around Tocumwal or Cobram, take the opportunity to say hello and introduce yourself. A friendly greeting can make a big difference for students living on the other side of the world.

Tocumwal Optimists are busy organising and preparing for their upcoming street stall and garden cart raffle to be held in late September. Sale of tickets for the popular raffle will continue throughout October.
On the social scene, the Optimists enjoyed an outing to the Shepparton Arts Museum (SAM) to view the ‘Degas to Picasso’ exhibition.
‘Christmas in July’ was the theme at the recent July meeting held at the Terminus Hotel which was reported to be a night of fun and laughter that was enjoyed thoroughly by all.
Tocumwal Optimists are looking for new members to join and participate in fundraising and social activities.

Congratulations to Tocumwal Lions Club on a successful Made, Baked and Grown Market on Saturday.
The market was held at the Lions clubrooms and was well attended by locals and visitors who came to view and support what the small business stall holders had on offer.
Save the date for the next market which is set to be held on Saturday, December 5, just in time for some Christmas shopping.
