Excellence in wheat farming awards

Judge John Lacey said judging criteria was very specific.

“It is based on the adoption of a very modern disc seeder, and having a much narrower row spacing than is common,” he said.

“We also checked the seeder has the ability to operate in dry and wet soils, and its ability to sow into bigger stubbles and also reduce weed competition.

John has been judging for many years and said, “I love judging, it looks at a different aspect of good yielding crops”.

The Swann family were the winners of the Dryland Field Wheat Farming Excellence award.

Greg Dickins (A L Dickins and Co.) was the winner of the Agshows NSW and Suncorp Dryland Durum Field Wheat Farming Competition.
