Other residents and members of his family marked the occasion with a special luncheon and cutting of the cake.
Born in Geelong Hospital on September 26, 1925, Eric moved to Finley with his parents at the age of two years.
He grew up here, eventually marrying local girl, Val Coombs.
The couple completed their family with children Debbie, Robyn and Alan, as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Eric has been involved in farming most of his life, at Logie Brae and also helping other farmers following his retirement and moving into town in 1993.
He was never one to be idle and is responsible for planting many of the trees around the Finley Lake, and for taking care of the landmark Water Wheel Garden.
Another of his interests after moving into town was joining the Finley Menshed group.
Eric has been a resident of Finley Regional Care for about seven years and, together with his family, would like to thank management for the wonderful arrangements carried out to mark his special day.
Celebrations continued on over the weekend including a luncheon held at the Finley RS Club on Saturday with several generations of family and previous neighbours.
Some travelled from as far away as Perth, Dubbo, Melbourne and many other Victorian and NSW country areas.
Sadly, Eric’s wife Val passed away about two years ago.
