Women from the Finley Fillies Red Hat Ladies group attended the International Women’s Day event.
A great day was had by all the women who attended International Women’s Day last Tuesday.
Gerdette Rooney entertained the 93 guests with snippets of her 50 years of travelling around the globe.

Gerdette compiled her book Womadic Wanders: Stories of a Compulsive Wanderer during the COVID years, when she was unable to continue her travels.
Gerdette loved her days in Berrigan and hopes to return in her van to catch up with the many people she met here.
Gerdette was also inspired with the Red Hatters group of ladies in attendance, and hopes to form a Red Hatters in Glebe!
Thank you to all attendees and the beautiful feedback regarding lunch and our speakers.
MC Karina Ewer spoke about her interesting life and love of motor bikes.
Everyone in the room could relate to Karina’s single mother plight regarding banks and working conditions for single women.
And Gerdette’s chat about her vast travel knowledge and sense of humour needed in hostel accommodation, had us all enthralled!
Gerdette’s book is for sale at Berrigan Bookshop.
Thanks also to the boys at the bar — Andrew and Graham — who did a top job while library staff (especially Wilma) did an amazing job of decorating the room with travel memorabilia.
We look forward to seeing what the promise of more exciting guests in 2023 brings.

Annie Cameron also turned 21 and enjoyed an evening at the Federal Hotel, followed by a dinner hosted by her gran Sue Cameron.
Happy birthday to the both of you.
