The gala fundraising evening for Biralee Preschool attracted a capacity crowd to the Finley RS Club on Saturday night.
The night was a huge success and featured some playful antics by Kristin Thow (as TV personality, Dame Edna) coupled with great chemistry by host Jane Hawkins.
Originally fourth after judged by Kelly Lawlor, Colleen Rockliff and Judy Plattfuss, a public vote by attendees saw Sarah Bain and Simi Naicori become runners-up.
The most popular vote - based on pre-event votes and voting on the night - went to Mark Sutherland and Mardi Baker.
Dance instructor Vicki Ackers presented her coach's award to Karen Donkin and Craig Hendy.
The final award of the night was the judges award, and was presented to Jenny Philpot and Rick Shaw.
The five couples went toe-to-toe in individual dances, before coming together for a group dance to an ABBA medley.
"All the contestants were excellent throughout the whole process, the did it with joy at every stage and were so delightful and easy to work with," Biralee Preshcool president Jane Harris said.
"You could tell they were all performing and rehearsing with a genuine smile and laugh all the whole way through.
"Committee member Kate Stephan and full-time Biralee teacher Maicie Close were an enormous help from the beginning right through to helping on the night.
"Vicki and her girls Jasmine and Makaila also did an amazing job behind the scenes with all the dances. as well as Jane (Hawkins) and Kristen (Thow), who did a great job as MCs."
While the fundraising total from the night is still being finalised, Mrs Harris said it should be about $15,000.
All proceeds will support preschool and out of school hours programs at Biralee.
"It's amazing that through such trying times for so many who attended and helped out, the amount of generosity was unbelievable," she said.
