About $2000 was raised for the appeal in Jerilderie, Finley and Mathoura.
Collectors were in the three towns last week and early this week collecting donations for the Salvation Army’s biggest yearly fundraiser.
Efforts this week moved to fundraising in Deniliquin, with organisers hoping to raise $10,000 form the four towns combined.
Deniliquin Salvation Army community engagement officer Sandra Whyborn said all money raised through the appeal in the area would remain in the district and be used to help people locally.

She the Salvation Army wanted to use the money in the community to help those who were struggling with poverty and those who were living rough.
“It’s not just Deniliquin. We support other communities as well,” she said.
She said the Salvos were keen to hear any ideas people had of ways the Salvos could support the district’s communities.
You can call Ms Whyborn on 0400 713 038 with any suggestions.
She paid special tribute to those who had already donated.
“Thank you to the communities of Finley and Jerilderie,” Mrs Whyborn said.
“We need the help of community members more than ever as we continue to support those who have felt the devastating impacts of the past couple years.
“We cannot do what we do without you.
“Your generosity and support will help us to leave no-one in need within our community.”
If you still want to donate, you can post donations to Deniliquin Salvation Army, PO Box 75, Deniliquin; or donate online on the Salvation Army website at salvationarmy.org.au
