Berrigan is included in the Lexus Melbourne Cup tour this year, and it will be showcased at the show on Sunday.
Attendees can hold and take a photo with the nearly 4kg, 18 carat gold trophy, thanks to the efforts of the Berrigan & District Race Club.
To keep on theme with the exciting visit of the Melbourne Cup, the Berrigan show will this year feature several racing-inspired attractions including hobbyhorse races, a spring racing hat parade, Off-the-Track equestrian classes featuring retired racehorses, and numerous Melbourne Cup-inspired competitions across the pavilion classes.
The Cup will be presented following the official opening, which will be held at 12.30pm.
As part of the tour, Berrigan is also one of 24 regional and rural towns included in the Lexus Melbourne Cup National Sweep.
As a part of this sweep, a representative from each community gets the chance to watch the Melbourne Cup in person at Flemington.
And the town which draws the barrier of the winning horse wins a cash prize to be donated to a charity of their choosing.
Berrigan & District Race Club has drawn Horse Aid.
