CoolHeads is a thought-provoking, confronting and informative road safety initiative that provides valuable insights for young drivers.
The program aims to help young people recognise risky driving behaviours and prevent further trauma on our roads.
This initiative is not about teaching driving skills — it’s about highlighting the real and lasting consequences of distraction and risk-taking while driving.
The death or serious injury of young people in our communities has devastating effects on families, friends, schools and sporting clubs.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said CoolHeads sought to influence driver attitudes and promote safer decision-making behind the wheel.
“We are fortunate to have guest speakers from Victoria Police MCIU (Major Collision Investigation Unit), Ambulance Victoria and the CFA, as well as Michael Purcell, father of Jordan Purcell, who tragically lost his life to a driver in Alexandra in 2019,” the spokesperson said.
“Michael will share his powerful personal story.”
