Up to 70 violas were donated to the facility’s sensory garden, bringing joy to residents and kick-starting a renewed focus on the space.
The initiative was led by the Deniliquin Business Chamber.
The flowers were purchased for the Deniliquin Business Excellence Awards, with Dahlsen’s Mitre 10 Deniliquin selling them at a discount because of their intended final destination at Navorina.
The planting was carried out by Rotary Club volunteers Debi Goodway and Angela Maddison, who were eager to contribute to the wellbeing of Navorina’s residents.
“It’s a bit of a community contribution,” Mrs Goodway said.
“Rotary has an ongoing commitment to the sensory garden, and this really helped kick-start that project.”
The violas were carefully placed throughout the garden, adding vibrant pops of colour and sensory stimulation for residents and visitors alike.
“The flowers look wonderful; little bursts of colour — you can’t help but smile,” Mrs Goodway said.
The sensory garden is designed to engage residents through sight, smell, and touch, offering a peaceful and interactive space that promotes wellbeing.
