Former Savernake Public School student and Yarrawonga Health community nurse, Professor Cate Nagle, has been appointed to the inaugural role of Chair in Midwifery, a joint appointment with Barwon Health and Deakin University Geelong.
The role involves providing academic and professional leadership to clinical and academic staff and students across the two organisations.
An additional focus will be developing research programs that provide quality, safe care to women and their infants.
Cate previously held the position of Professor of Nursing and Midwifery at James Cook University Townsville for seven years.
Cate is the daughter of Lewis and Anne Nagle (both deceased) of Narbethong, Mulwala.
