Get baking and celebrate Australia Day with some classic favourites – lamingtons and ANZAC biscuits!
Competition will be hosted on Australia Day, and all ages welcome to enter.
Your entries must be dropped off at the Coleambally Community Hall between 7.30am and 8.30am on the day.
All entries must be homemade and lamingtons must be in the traditional in concept - sponge cake squares coated in chocolate icing and rolled in desiccated coconut. Fillings are not required.
The squares are typically around 3cm-4cm per side, and you must present three lamingtons on a disposable plate for judging. You may only enter one plate per person.
Judging criteria includes appearance, uniformity, colour, texture and flavour.
Biscuit bakers need to provide five on a disposable plate.
Judges will look for that deep golden colour, even size, shape, and colour.
Biscuits should be between 4cm and 6cm and chewy in the centre but still snap when broken.
Bring along your best bake and show off your Australia Day spirit.
