It is designed to give residents a chance to connect with their local government representatives.
Council says the sessions will be genuine, one-on-one conversations with local councillors about the matters that are most important to the community.
It hopes these informal sessions will allow residents to ask questions, share some ideas, raise concerns or just drop in for a friendly chat with local representatives.
These sessions will run in local cafes in the Berrigan Shire, including the Border Bridge Café in Barooga from 7:30am to 8:30am on Friday October 31, the Berrigan Bakehouse from 9am to 10am on Friday November 7, 5th Daughter Café in Tocumwal from 9am to 10am on Saturday November 1, and the Finley Bakery from 9am to 10am on Saturday November 8.
Mayor Julia Cornwell McKean said the initiative is about creating more meaningful opportunities for residents to connect with their councillors.
“Coffee with a councillor is about making it easy and comfortable for residents to talk to us. We want to hear your ideas, answer your questions and understand your concerns – and what better way to do that than at your local café,” she said.
The council is looking forward to welcoming residents to these informal drop-in sessions and encourages everyone to “come along for a cuppa”.
