More than 3000 people passed through the gates, creating what Berrigan and District Race Club president Geoff Swann described as a “really happy and relaxed crowd”.
“The weather conditions were ideal for a day at the races,” Mr Swann said.
“It was a very successful day at the club, with appreciation to all our sponsors.
“The track was in ideal condition.”
The standout moment of the day was the emotional victory of Eamonn’s Memory, winner of this year’s Gold Cup.
Named by a group of friends in memory of their mate Eamonn, who passed away in 2012, the horse has become a regional racing star.
With six gold cup titles across the district to date, with 14 wins from 79 starts, this win marked another chapter in a remarkable journey.
Off the track, the entertainment was just as lively.
The DJ kept the crowd dancing all day, with Mr Swann noting “a bit of a mosh pit formed, and it was going off towards the end of the day”.
The cocktail van was buzzing, pizzas were a hit, and BB’s Catering served up a delicious barbecue and meals in the dining room.
The Fashions on the Field dazzled with stylish looks and smiling faces.
Winners were as follows:
• Young Miss Racegoer – Sylvia Swann, Berrigan.
• Young Master Racegoer – Lucas Swann, Berrigan.
• Best Dressed Gent – Adrian Way, Kiewa.
• Lady of the Day – Rose Jordan, Deniliquin.
• Best Hat – Katrina Johnson, now of Rutherglen.
• Best Dressed Couple – Claire Davidson and Darrell Spencer, Corowa.
Fashion organisers thanked major sponsors and other local sponsors who contributed thousands of dollars in gifts and prizes.
Special thanks also went to fashion judges Kate Pitt and Helen Flisher from Edith Elsie Vintage Clothing Store in Deniliquin.

Another exciting addition to the race day was the foot race, which was hotly contested.
Jake Kalz and Zara Ludeman took home $100 each as first past the post.
“The crowd really enjoyed the foot race; there was lots of barracking, so it’s definitely something we will bring back next year,” Mr Swann added.
Lady of the Day was Rose Jordan from Deniliquin.
Best Dressed Gent Adrian Way.
The Best Dressed Couple was Claire Davidson and Darrell Spencer.
Best Hat went to Katrina Johnson.
