From 5pm, the main street was closed to traffic and transformed into a bustling hub of activity.
Market and food stalls proved popular, with families enjoying raffles, a spinning wheel, late-night trading, and a barbecue.
Children flocked to outdoor games, while the Cobram Pipe Band and other performers filled the air with music.
Santa Claus was the star attraction, drawing a crowd of excited youngsters.
“Santa was mobbed, and was the favourite of lots of the younger attendees,” Berrigan and District Development Association spokesperson John Lane said.
“The carols were absolutely excellent, and some of the songs were just brilliant.”
The Berrigan Rural Fire Service’s truck display was another highlight, giving children the chance to climb aboard and meet local volunteers.
While hot and windy weather initially affected turnout, the atmosphere built as conditions cooled later in the night.
“Big thank you, from the BDDA, to the volunteers and the crowd for making the night,” Mr Lane added.
As well as providing some festive cheer, the Market Night allows local groups and organisations to raise their profile and fundraise. A key event was the annual Red Cross Fashion Xtravaganza.
