From the inner-city commission flats of Melbourne to the front lines of activism and the MMA ring, Nick Patterson’s journey is a powerful testament to grit, transformation, and unshakable faith.
Born in 1983 and raised by a single mother who overcame her own battle with addiction, Nick’s formative years were shaped by adversity, fierce independence and appreciation for resilience.
A pivotal encounter with a street preacher sparked Nick’s early spiritual curiosity, which eventually led to full-time ministry.
Nick’s passion for Mixed Martial Arts became another formative outlet , over 12 years, he built and ran a successful MMA gym, training fighters and establishing a community rooted in discipline, physicality, and mentorship.
His next chapter led him deep into political engagement and humanitarian causes.
Nick journeyed to Arizona the following year to investigate child trafficking at the U.S.–Mexico border.
That mission laid the groundwork for Project Milestone, a cause aimed at disrupting trafficking networks and empowering victims.
His activism escalated during Australia’s 2020 lockdowns, when Nick founded the “Peace Makers,” a group focused on raising awareness and fostering social unity.
Nick’s participation in protests eventually led to legal battles and brief imprisonment—where he famously represented himself and secured victories in three out of four cases.
On August 4, guests at the men’s dinner will hear firsthand from a man who’s fought battles in the ring, in court, and within himself—and emerged with a message that resonates far beyond the fight.
The dinner will cost $40 for attendees and will include a two course meal, held at Finley RSC, 63-67 Tocumwal Rd Finley.
