Aquatic centre up for review

Following the 2023 review, councillors resolved to operate the facility for three years in-house and to undertake another service review after three years to determine whether to continue or to outsource management to a third-party contractor.

The goal is to critically assess the financial, operational, and community impacts of the current in-house model versus a third-party outsourced model, ensuring the centre remains viable, safe, and beneficial to the community.

Cr Rowena Black said it would be interesting to see how the tiered model had progressed and to identify its benefits and disadvantages.

“Discovering whether this is the best model and whether there can be savings made by running it differently will be very important going forward,” Cr Black said.

The review will be undertaken by an external consultant.
