The Active Farmers Games returned to Coleambally on Saturday on the back of a successful 2022 event, bigger, better and muddier with fun for families to enjoy.

The action started at 2pm with an energetic and fun-filled day.

There were obstacles, activities, music, a barbecue and much more.

More than 200 people, including 43 children, showed up to challenge themselves, and for a frolic in the mud.

There were 18 obstacles ranging from tyre flipping, tyre stacking, a hay wall climb, wheelbarrow races and the crowd favourite mud pit which ensured plenty of action and laughter throughout the day.

The Open Mixed event was won by the TTPs.

The Open Men’s event was won by the Concrete Cowboys and the Open Women’s event was won by The Dream Team.

Event organiser Joe Briggs said it was “amazing to host a national event in our small town of Colemabally.”

“It was great to see Active Farmers creating an all inclusive day for families,” he continued.

“I would like to thank the games committee, the obstacle build sub-committee, volunteers, service providers, sponsors and of course the community for making the day possible.”

Based on the success of the last two years, planning for 2024 is expected to start soon.
