This year, the school is especially thankful, with the contribution increasing to an outstanding $3000.
On behalf of the school community, the principal Jeff Ward would like to extend sincere thanks to the committee and dedicated volunteers who make this possible.
“Your support continues to have a meaningful impact on our students,” Mr Ward explained.
This generous donation will go towards funding the end-of-year rewards excursion, a celebration for students who demonstrate consistent attendance, a commitment to their learning, and uphold the school’s core values of being respectful, responsible learners.
“Thank you for helping us recognise and celebrate the efforts of our outstanding students,” Mr Ward said.

At the Finley Local Health Advisory Committee meeting held last week, data was tabled from the Skin Cancer Van which visited our community in early May.
During the day, 73 people had their skin checked.
Of these, 38 referrals were given for further follow up by local doctors for a range of concerns including possible melanomas, carcinomas and actinic keratosis.
This is a timely reminder to us all to ensure we heed skin protection messages to "slip, slop, slap, seek and slide" and to remember to regularly get our skin checked by our doctor.
For further information, go to the Cancer Council website on www.cancer.org.au.

It was especially pleasing to see Finley Lions Club president, Steve McRae, back on his feet following a serious accident and selling wood raffle tickets on Saturday.
Colin Drury was the lucky recipient of the trailer load of wood.
Finley Lions Club would like to thank the Finley RS Club and the Tuppal Hotel for their generous support in donating meals for the team of the recent Lions V Districts Skin Cancer Checking Van.
Finley Lions Club continue to be grateful for the generosity of the Finley community.

Just a reminder that ‘Unlocking Hope No. 16 – Understanding Dementia’ will take place at the Finley RS Club next Tuesday, June 10, with a 10.15am gathering for 10.30am start. This presentation will take about one hour.
Guest speaker will be Shannan Carey. Shannan will be speaking about the important work St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) does in the region, how people experiencing hardship can access support, and the wide range of volunteer opportunities available for those who want to get involved.
Shannan has recently been appointed as community outreach coordinator for the Wagga Wagga Central Council of St Vincent de Paul and helps make a difference in their community.
In her role as the president of her conference, she was the driving force behind several impactful initiatives, including the Buddies Day and Homework Help programs, and brought outstanding leadership, energy and strong organisational skills to every task.
An invitation is extended to residents in Finley and the surrounding communities to take advantage of this wonderful service provided by the Berrigan Shire Dementia Alliance.
An RSVP to 5883 9600 would be appreciated to assist with arrangements but is not essential.

Rumour has it that there was a totally unexpected visitor to the Finley Showgrounds recently.
One very large buffalo was found wandering in the area.
After an appeal on social media in an endeavour to find the owner, the matter was dealt with, thanks to the help of Bill Judd and John McBurnie who happened to be carrying out maintenance on the golf course. Well done everyone.

Unfortunately, the Finley Show Society members cancelled Friday's street stall due to the roadworks. They hope to hold another in July.
Meanwhile they continue with monthly meetings and planning the September show.
The committee is focused on this weekend's Dog Trials, which run from Friday to Sunday.
The event is open to the public and entry is free. Food and drinks will be available each day.
The committee always welcomes new volunteers willing to help at any of their events. If you have an interest in any area, contact the secretary on 0499 872 437.
