They will be among 192 show societies to display a scarecrow as a symbol of solidarity for cancelled shows.
The annual show in Finley was due to be held on September 6, and was not totally cancelled, with online agriculture and pavilion competitions.
The Berrigan Show Society last week constructed a family of scarecrows at its showgrounds.
Finley Show Society president Matt Mueller said while necessary, the COVID-19 cancellations of key events on the social calendar have disappointed organisers, exhibitors and attendees statewide.
‘‘We thought it was important to show our support for the shows across New South Wales who were unable to hold an event this year.
‘‘We were lucky to hold our online section and hope we can get back to a normal show next year.’’
FSS scarecrow Fred can be seen from the Newell Hwy at the showgrounds, while scarecrow Joan can be seen at Finley St Joseph’s Primary School.
Agricultural shows in Australia attract six million visitors annually and the volunteer hours required to run the 660 shows makes the show movement the largest volunteer network in the country.
