The students of Sacred Heart School entertained the audience with the Magical Land of Oz at the Memorial Hall before a delighted audience of parents, family and friends last Wednesday.
They sang, danced and delivered the script with confidence and enthusiasm.
The Magical Land of Oz follows the classic story line of the Wizard of Oz with a modern twist to the songs keeping it interesting and fresh.
Dorothy and Toto sang their sweet songs with feeling and conviction and The Cowardly Lion’s antics amused the gathered audience.
The rest of the cast was made up of the whole school, who excelled themselves on stage and behind the scenes.
Director Helen Dickie was pleased with the performances.
The ever improving drama program at the school is believed to have contributed to the success of the play, with students being exposed to major theatrical productions like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, The Lion King and Matilda in Melbourne.
Wednesday's play was followed by a community supper.
