Ashley Paul Griffith had been taken across the border into NSW, Queensland Corrections Minister Laura Gerber said on Wednesday.
"Australia's worst pedophile, Ashley Paul Griffith, was successfully extradited to NSW this morning," Ms Gerber said.
"What Griffith did to children was abhorrent. He is a monster."
Griffith's face was shown publicly in a video of the transfer released by Queensland Corrective Services.
He could be seen wearing a green prison tracksuit while being escorted through the Wolston Correctional Centre's maximum security unit at Wacol, south west of Brisbane.
Griffith, 48, was jailed for life in Queensland in November 2024 after he pleaded guilty to more than 300 child sexual offences against nearly 70 victims.
He has not been seen in public photos or video since his arrest in August 2022.
Most of what Griffith said to the guards was muted by Corrective Services.
However he is heard to say "not this time" when asked if he has been transported in a particular kind of prison van before.
The video shows Griffith after he changes into the jeans and military-style jacket he was wearing when first arrested before being handcuffed.
He is then placed in a cage made of grey metal and unbreakable glass that is built into the back of an unmarked white van, which begins to drive through a sally port to the outside world.
Griffith admitted to assaulting and filming young girls over the course of years while working at Queensland child care centres.
Griffith has also been charged in NSW with 202 child sexual offences, allegedly committed against 23 girls as young as 10, at a Sydney childcare centre between 2014 and 2017.
He was taken from a maximum security prison and across the NSW border at 8am on Wednesday, where he was handed to authorities at Tweed Heads.
Suggestions he should be taken to Sydney by private jet were rejected in favour of road transport, Ms Gerber said.
"I will say what most Queenslanders are thinking right now: I hope he hit every pothole on the way," she said.
His prisoner transfer was approved by a Brisbane magistrate earlier in the month with victims' supporters yelling insults at the convicted rapist as he stood in the dock for the decision.
The transfer came after a failed attempt in June to reduce his Queensland sentence.
His lawyers had argued the 27‑year non‑parole period he was handed for hundreds of offences committed on 69 young children spanning almost 20 years was ''manifestly excessive''.
