Steeped in history, Tatura was the site of seven Prisoner of War camps during World War II and now has one of the most significant war time museums in Victoria.

STANHOPE
Commissioned by the Stanhope RSL Sub Branch, the Montevideo Maru mural remembers Australia’s largest maritime disaster.
The town’s main attraction is Fonterra, the big cheese factory that has a mural made up of 11,000 photos of the community.
For those after a bargain, Stanhope Monster Garage Sale happens the second Sunday of each month.

TONGALA
Winner of the best street art trail at the 2022 Australian Street Art Awards, Tongala is lined with over 50 murals that tell the history and past culture of the town.
Pay your respects to past servicemen at the Tongala Light Horse Memorial, which leads to the War Memorial for Cavalry (Vietnam) where you can pay your respects to the Armoured Corp serviceman who lost their lives in the Vietnam War
Tongala may be small, but the town has everything you need to spend the day or even become part of the community, cafés, takeaway shops, bakery, IGA, petrol station, hardware, post office and pub.

MOOROOPNA
Known as the Fruit Salad City, Mooroopna sits on the banks of the Goulburn River, across the causeway from Shepparton.
The Gemmills Swamp is a wildlife reserve that encompasses 170 hectares of Red Gum floodplain forest and Tall Spike Rush wetlands.
Immerse yourself in an Australian bush tucker experience at a guesthouse with heart and soul, Craigmuir Lake House, or book a longer Indigenous culture tour.

RUSHWORTH
Wander the wide high street, reading the ‘Walk through time’ plaques on many of the buildings, to learn about the gold rush era that once was.
Stop for a coffee or a spot of lunch at one of the many eateries, visit the Rushworth Museum or take a wander through the ironbark forests on the edge of town.
The Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival with market, Easter Bonnets, dog show, street parade and demonstration of vintage vehicles is held every Easter Saturday.
Visit the site of the former township and gold mine, Whroo and Balaclava Mines in the surrounding state forest.
