Carlton's remarkable transformation has nurtured hype for a possible late finals run, with the Blues outclassing former top-eight team GWS by 23 points to make it five wins from five games under Fraser.
After losing eight of nine games under former coach Michael Voss, the Blues are 14th (six wins, eight losses) - four points behind 10th-placed North Melbourne in the last wildcard spot.
Should the Blues see off 16th-placed West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, they'll nab their longest winning streak since a nine-game run in late 2023 that secured their first finals appearance in a decade.
But the lid is firmly on inside the Blues camp.
Fraser has maintained publicly he's not interested in the full-time role, saying he's not willing to let Carlton get carried away with any talk about finals and the future beyond.
It's a similar message from veteran ruckman Marc Pittonet ahead of the Eagles clash.
"It's probably just the coincidence of wins. The belief's always been there," Pittonet told AAP.
"We've had a lot of games that we've lost that we should have won, so we knew that we could do it.Â
"And I think just a bit of timing, a bit of players just having to find form. Any time you win, you naturally get more belief in general.
"That's just worked out well. You win five in a row, and everyone's feeling better."
Carlton face Richmond after the Eagles in a home run that pits them against three current top-six teams - Hawthorn (round 18), Brisbane (round 21) and Fremantle (round 24) - out of nine matches.
A surprise finals berth is not impossible, but Pittonet believes thinking about reaching September would be premature.
"Nah, to be honest, especially where we've been all year," Pittonet said.
"It's just being able to get the environment and what we're trying to build as a club and (our) identity better from the start to the end of the year.
"Some of our wins have been on the back of things we were working on earlier in the year. They just started to click a bit more as we've gone.
"The aim is if we get our identity right, the environment right, then by the end of the year it'll all add up ... in quality."
Carlton have made no changes for Saturday's match, with club remaining cautious with star defender Jacob Weitering (calf).
Rising Star favourite Willem Duursma headlines four fit-again inclusions for the Eagles, joined by Jack Graham, Tom McCarthy and Jack Hutchinson.
