Shania Bentley played a fantastic game in goals, shooting well and rebounding strongly.

Holly Robinson was outstanding in WD, then stepped up and played a cracking game in centre.

Unfortunately Finley lost Maicie Close to a knee injury halfway through the second quarter, but they managed to regroup and finish the game strongly.

Wing players Abbey Breust, Vanessa Geeves, Kaylee Lonsdale and Tanea Bower were great in both attack and defence.

Going into the last quarter Finley had a nine goal lead but started to run out of puff, but the Cats fought it out until the end under fairly warm conditions

The Cats stepped up to the challenge and maintained their tight defence, strong leads and positivity over four quarters.

Sarah Orro and Micaelie Price combined beautifully in goals, passing in and out of the circle, using their angles to gain a better position to shoot from.

Micaelie also gained numerous intercepts which allowed Finley another chance at goal.

Piper Doyle did an amazing job when she switched ends this week and talked it up in the defensive circle with the ever consistent Bella Kelly.

Both girls did a fantastic job sticking tight, rebounding and getting plenty of taps and deflections.

Speedy mid courters Elle Rochford, Sarah Haynes, Niamh Mason and Shianne Mason provided great drive and a link from the defence end to the attack end.

They led strongly, defended tightly all game and used what the team has been working on at training and applied this in a game situation which was great to see.

Final score, Finley 31 to Barooga 28.

It was without a doubt the best game this season for the U15s Cats, despite an eight goal loss.
