This year’s junior girls champion was Jasmine Burke, with her sister Sienna Burke the runner-up.
The twins played a highly entertaining game with many hard fought long rallies.
Both girls showed excellent skill and athleticism.
The junior boys championship was a play off between 18 year-old Cameron Lawler and 14 year-old Reece Simmons.
This was one of the most nailbiting matches to witness.
Two sets both won by each allowed the last set to determine the winner with, Cameron eventually winning.
In the B grade ladies final, Jasmine Burke fronted up for another match with Amy McAllister.
She followed up her performance in the juniors with yet another great performance, winning three sets and taking home the title.
Well done to Amy on getting through to the final and playing a tough match.
It’s great to have you back in the area and on the squash court.
The men’s B grade title was played off between Phil Oakes from Deniliquin and James ‘Bubba’ Kennedy.
These two certainly gave it their all in a hard fought contest with many great rallies.
James showed his determination and worked hard all game, but Phil pulled away in the end showing his experience and poise to win the championship.
Junior player Sienna Burke took to the court again for the A grade ladies championship, against last year’s winner Shania Bentley.
This proved to be another hard fought game with both players giving it their all.
The rallies were long with every ball being chased down.
Shania was just able to take home the title.
In the men’s A grade final, Murray Urquhart took on Warrick Steel.
Murray has been A grade champion for more than 10 years, so Warrick knew he was in for a battle of a match.
Murray was again too strong, and retained the title.
Well done to all participants.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the court in the upcoming year.
