Freezing and chilly were the conditions to both start and end a successful Ian Sneddon MND Charity Golf (four person ambrose) and Bowls day at Jerilderie on Sunday.

More than 80 golfers and 36 bowlers braved the sub zero, white frost conditions early but the sun finally bathed the fairways and greens.
The day culminated in the Big Freeze, the dunking of four willing participants and a large gallery surrounding the ice bath.
All participants enjoyed a fantastic day in great spirit and with wonderful generosity.
Scratch winners were The Legends 66 (R Bradbury, A Arnold, N Graham and P McVicar), r/u Rough Fella’s 67 (M Daniel, R Sutton, I Armour and S Fuller).
Handicap winners were Roosters 59.2 net (C McNamara, G Singleton, R Singleton and B White), r/u Bendigo Bank 59.3.
NAGA award went to a group of four Jerilderie locals.
Non handicap winners were Peaky Blinders 56.5 (J Hermiston, J Hermiston, Mel and J Simpson), r/u Bryce is the H’cap 56.9 (D Hercus, J Bryce, T Bryce, L Bryce) with NAGA award Brokeback Spuds.
Men’s longest drive R Singleton, ladies longest drive S Pyle.
NTPs: D Leeds, B Roe, J Sleigh, R CoPo, T Horsburgh, K McLennan.
Congratulations to the MND organising committee, Jerilderie Sports Club, the four Big Freeze participants and to all players.
A fantastic total of more than $16,000 was raised and will be donated to the Fight MND Charity Appeal.
This Wednesday’s format will be Medley Stableford and Sunday Medley Par.
Finley
Mary Polkinghorne finished 1-up to win the DeVine Ideas trophy when the women played versus par on Wednesday.
NTP: 13th Helen Wastle. Ball comp: Helen Wastle square.
Doug Smith had 35 points to win the stableford event on Wednesday.
NTP: 18th Trevor Mcaw. Ball comp: Barry Wilson 34, Alan Hand 32.
With the prospect of rain, the Thursday 9 hole competition was cancelled.
Michael Cooper from Tocumwal with 73 net was the Men’s Division winner when stroke was played for Cobram Toyota trophies on Saturday.
Women’s Division winner was Mary Polkinghorne 75 net.

Stableford was played on the Local Dentist Day on Sunday.
Marty Piggin was the Men’s Division winner with 33 points and Mary Polkinghorne was Women’s Division winner on 31 points.

The Club Tocumwal ladies played stableford on the captain’s course on Tuesday, June 18.

Berrigan
Friday’s winner was Joe Nicholls (45-9-36) who also won the putting with 14 putts.
Runner-up was Spike Salter (57-20-37) and ball winner was Geoff Tait (55-17-38).
Saturday’s winner was Sandy Moar (53-18-35), runner-up was Kura Goldsmith (54-18-36).
Beau Walliss won the putting with 12 putts, and ball winners were Wayne Crew (53-16.5-36.5) and Paul McVicor (46-11-37).
Sunday’s winner was Jeff Stein with 34 points, runner-up was Brad Vale on 31 points and ball winner was Chris Cameron on 31 points.
Next Sunday is the first round of championships. Tee off is at 12.30pm.
