Berrigan remained within striking distance throughout the contest before Waaia pulled away late, with Keegan Donnie leading the way in the forward 50 with four goals.
Brandan Batchelor and Dan Henderson were in elite form, with point accuracy and regular hard hitting contested footy.
Connor Thornton also got a gig in the forward half and was able to snag two majors for the day, while Xavier Fox was a further welcome inclusion for the Saints.

It was another tough afternoon for the reserves, who came up against a strong Waaia outfit and were defeated in a difficult contest.
Despite the scoreboard, the side continued to compete and work hard throughout the four quarters, with Rory Bartlett and Oliver Clancy kicking Berrigan’s majors.
Tom Baxter never backed down the entire match and provided plenty of run, as did Ayden Good. Both were recognised among the team’s best performers.

The youngest Saints delivered a terrific result for the club, holding on in a thrilling contest to defeat Waaia by just two behinds.
After establishing a lead through the first three quarters, the Saints showed great composure and determination to withstand a late challenge and secure the two points.
Harvey Swann starred up forward with four goals, Pat Arnold, Kobe Smith had a day out named in the best and played some of their best footy to date.
