Winning the toss, the Saints were in early trouble with Katamatite’s bowlers reducing the Saints to 4/17 with Blake Humphries (3/15) doing the early damage.
Andrew Parr and Jeremy Packer set about rebuilding the innings, taking the score to 68 before Parr was caught for 16.
Jeremy Packer took over, taking advantage of any bad balls to get himself to 42.
Fortunately for the Saints, the tail kept wagging, with Graeme Parr (14) and Lachie Packer (21) taking the Saints score past the 100 mark.
After 40 overs, the Saints finished on 9/125 with Josh Monteath on one not out and Ollie Batten zero not out.
Jawid Anwar bowled well during the middle overs to finish with 3/13.
In reply, Katamatite started strongly, enjoying a 47-run opening partnership until Luke Melville (2/20) spun a breakthrough removing Ollie Mynard for 28.
This started a run of wickets for the Saints, with the game evenly poised at 4/56 with Fraser Haintz picking up two wickets.
Tight bowling from Lachie Pyle (1/19) kept the scoreboard pressure on Katty, and they slowly passed the 100 mark with six wickets down.
Jeremy Packer (3/17) and Connor Thornton (2/3) stepped up to then claim the next five wickets to bowl Katamatite out for 112.
The Saints won by 13 runs to retain their second spot on the ladder.
This week they host Jerilderie.
In the under-15s, the combined Berrigan/Finley hosted Cobram in their first day of their 40 over match.
Cobram won the toss, sending the Saints in to bat.
Opener Jackson Pitt thrived with an unbeaten 70 retired.
He had good support from Jordan Swann (22).
Jack Phillips and Hudson Ware both finished off a great start for the Saints with Phillips finishing 42 not out and Ware 17 not out with Berrigan/Finley finishing 4/188 after their 40 overs.
