Mueller clubbed 109 off 84 balls to help steer Kyabram to a formidable and winning score of 6-285 against Karramomus at the Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
Coming to the wicket when Kyabram was 3-55, Mueller and Charlie McLay proceeded to set up Kyabram’s imposing score with a 173-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Batting first drop, McLay got into the 70s for the second time this season with 79 off 96 balls, which included nine boundaries.
Mueller’s stellar knock contained 11 fours and two sixes.
Kyle Fitzgerald gave the Kyabram total a late boost with a quick-fire 37 off 24 deliveries with five fours.
In reply Kyabram restricted Karramomus to 98 off 29.2 overs with left arm off-spinner Alec Young enjoying his most fruitful spell of the year, taking 5-30 off 7.2 overs.
Charlie McLay and Tom Holman chipped in with two early wickets each as Kyabram catapulted into the top six, from seventh to fifth place.
This Saturday at Shepparton’s Princess Park Kyabram tackles Shepparton United, who slipped out of the top six after being beaten by Nagambie on Saturday.
- Kyabram’s B-grade side could manage only 132 against Karramomus but it was enough to secure the premiership points after a deadly spell of bowling from Jason Parsons.
Karramomus was 2-77 at one stage in its run-chase but Parsons changed the course of the game with a lethal spell which produced four wickets for only two runs off 6.4 overs.
He was well supported by Nick Chambers with 3-20 off nine overs.
Openers Tim Nelson (29) and Parsons (23) gave Kyabram a promising start but only three batsmen got into double figures after their departures.
The win lifted Kyabram to third spot on the ladder but only five premiership points separates second-placed Numurkah from seventh-placed Northerners.
- In C-grade star veteran batter Ross Brown steered Kyabram to an eight-wicket win over Central Park-St Brendan’s.
Brown’s unbeaten innings of 83, which contained 10 boundaries and two sixes, enabled Kyabram to cover its rival’s score in 29.3 overs.
Brown shared a match-winning unbeaten third-wicket stand of 153 with opener Pat Parsons, who finished unbeaten on 45.
In the Central Park-St Brendan’s innings Daniel Anderson grabbed 3-6 off eight overs.
The win lifted Kyabram into the top six.
