In a surprise for bookmakers, Darren Thompson was re-elected unopposed as ClubMulwala Snooker Club President for the 2022/23 year at the recent AGM.

Darren has undertaken this role with great commitment for many years and the club all look forward to him setting records for long term tenure in this office.
Welcome to new committee member Marg Conomy, who has also committed for the forthcoming year, in addition to stalwarts including Darren Edwards, Debbie Harbrow, Michael Barclay, Dan Young, Ashley Nicholls, Jake Thompson, Daryl McKernan and Nev Page.
The club extends its great appreciation and thanks to Hans Lang, who has stepped down from the committee after many years of service in numerous roles.
The Bruce Johnstone Trophy final was conducted on Monday, July 25 and Michael Barclay continued his sensational recent form with a victory over Darren Edwards.
This is Michael’s first club event victory and caps off what has been a stellar month of victories that has seen him shoot to the top of the Player of the Year standing.
Darren is also coming into strong form and looks like good value in forthcoming event markets. Congratulations to you both on playing off in this event.
David Arzuhaldzic made a triumphant return to snooker on Monday, August 1 when he claimed the Monthly Club Challenge over Darren Edwards. Dave has been absent for a while but performed very well to edge out Darren in a high-quality final table.
Chris Page took out uncle Nev in Wednesday, July 27’s social event final frame. Armed with a new cue, Chris is determined to improve his snooker and made some very good pots to win through qualifying rounds and the deciding match.
Darren Edwards cleaned up the social event on Wednesday, August 3 with a victory over Kev Young to continue his surge of form.
The club is hosting two further visits from staff and students of Yarrawonga College P-12 in the next fortnight and the snooker club look forward to introducing the sport to more young people on an ongoing basis.
The ClubMulwala Snooker Club will be happy to hear from any other schools or community groups who would like to visit and will be delighted to chat on either of the numbers given below to discuss and or make the appropriate arrangements.
As can be seen on the ClubMulwala website and in its members newsletter, the snooker club welcome new members or anyone who may like to give snooker a try.

There are a variety of events held every Monday and Wednesday evening and there are plenty of opportunities for new players to join or come along to try the facilities out. The club have 2 excellently maintained full size tables, which have recently been re-surfaced and a new state of the art lighting system.
The snooker room is available for competition, practice and visitor use, and the club has its own regularly updated handicapping system to ensure players from beginners to advanced level can compete equally.
There are also plenty of experienced and skilled players who can help with advice and tips on how to improve your game or perhaps adapt it for those who have played pub or social pool in the past.
