John Henderson's Legal Eagles side had a close loss to Deni Newsagency last Wednesday.
Rain last week caused the Charlottle St lawn tennis courts to lose their hard sheen, and so the bounce was irregular in parts for the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club’s fourth round of the Twilight Comp last Wednesday.

A breeze from the south west held up the ball if you were hitting into it, and would push a high ball out of court.
Nevertheless, the playing conditions were enjoyable, with Deni Newsagency outlasting Legal Eagles to win by two sets.
Games were just about shared, with Newsagency winning 117 games to Eagles 116.
A difference of one game after 233 games. How close is that?
Eagles captain John Henderson was not pleased with the loss, but noted that it was a good step-up from the first time these teams played against each other.
In October, Newsagency won 16 sets and 122 games to 10 sets 101 games.
Rich Larcombe recorded a three set winning evening, winning against the usually reliable Tom Hooke.
Michael Williams, returning from his trip to F1 car races, was still on a high and won his three sets.
In the ladies sets, 64 games were played between the two teams, and each won 32 games.
But Newsagency won four sets to three.
Steph Calder was strongest in her three sets played against the NSW Business Awards winning Lucy Horne, two sets to one – 16 games versus 14.
It was tough tennis.
Peppin Planners played Mitre 10.
The last time they played, in round 1 in October, Peppin won 18 sets to eight.
In round four last week it was a similar result, with Peppin winning 17 sets and 123 games to Mitre 10 winning nine sets and 88 games.
Mens'’ captain Rowan Frazer said his team was not playing up to speed, leaving the winning to only a few of the team.
They will look to improve with a better result this week.
Frazer added that Jack McGrillen was doing the bulk of the heavy lifting, playing at the number three spot for the team.
Jack has won his three sets in each of the four rounds to date.
He has not lost a set yet this competition, winning 18 games every week so far.
Also for Mitre 10, Monty Jones was a three set winner for the women.
Meanwhile for Peppin, Mary James, Lachie Cooke, Darcy Pogue and Graeme Murphy were all three set winners.
Graeme was drawn to play three sets against son David.
He was apprehensive at the beginning, saying that David knew his tennis failings.
Graeme didn’t dwell on it so much, though.
He won three sets to nil.
