A highlight of the 36th annual event will be the blood pumping, bull-bucking action.
It all gets underway at the Finley Showgrounds from 5.30pm Saturday, and proudly hosted by the Finley Apex club and the Australian Pro Rodeo Association.
“We've completely revamped the arena this year to allow spectators the best experience possible,” Apex president Lachlan Kerr said.
“We've received feedback in previous years about the sun being in the eyes of spectators, so we've made some changes to the seating arrangements. The sun should be at their backs so it's perfect for viewing entertainment.”
The Finley event is one of the region’s major rodeos and will feature the best bulls and broncs from Australia’s legendary rodeo stock supplier Gary McPhee.
Cowboys and cowgirls will gear up to compete in the Rod Harris Memorial Open Bull Ride, junior bull ride, saddle bronc, bareback, steer wrestling, roping and barrel race events.
“There's a lot to look forward to,” Mr Kerr said.
“We have some of the best competitors come from all around Australia for this event.
“Our popular events - the junior, team, bronc and open bull ride - will be crowd pleasers.
“There will also be plenty of side shows and entertainment for the kids, as well as a bar and food area.”
Gates open at 5.30pm and action begins at 7pm. After the action dies down in the arena, live music will be provided.
Tickets are $30 for adults, or $20 for aged pensioners.
Individual junior tickets are $15 for teens aged 13 to 17 and $5 for 7 to 12 year-olds, with children under six free with an accompanying adult.
A family ticket, for two children and two adults, is $60.
