Touch Footy reaches finals

The grand finals for Finley Touch Footy have been set following the semi-finals held last Wednesday, December 11.

In A grade, Elders were able to overcome a resilient Fortitude Frames side.

Elders took a one point lead into the break after a back and forth first half, but Fortitudes defence began to crack in the second and Elders were able to pounce finishing the game winners 10 to 1.

Elders will no challenge Eagle I in the grand final tonight.

In B grade Finley Jets fell just short against the newly formed Jerildere team Thugby.

It was try for try the entire match but the class of Simon Fuller shone through as Thugby snuck home 4 to 3.

In the other final Finley Community Gym took on the youngest side in the competition Yippee Try Yey.

With the Finley Gym side consisting of a number of youths also, this game saw mate against mate playing for bragging rights at school.

It was the splash of experience in Finley Gym that got them over the line 6 to 4.

Finley Community Gym will tackle Thugby in the B grade grand final tonight.

Tonight's grand finals will be played at 6pm at the Finley Showgrounds which will be immediately followed by a barbecue and award presentations at Finley Golf Club.
