In a quality contest where the winner would end the weekend eighth on the ladder, the Timbercutters led at every change, but could never shake off the gallant Demons.
It was the test of the season for the Demons, coming up against a robust Mathoura.
The Dees had a slow start to the day, which in the end proved to be costly.
The Demons however, did fight back in the second quarter and managed to be just one goal down at half time.
The second half was a much more contested game as both sides demanded the ball.
Sam Sleigh and David Gregory were once again dominant around the ground, providing Jerilderie the much-needed drive to move the ball forward.
The last quarter showcased just how far the Demons have come this season, they pushed the Timbercutters to the absolute limit and didn’t give up, even when things were tough.
Final score, Mathoura 14.9 (93) to Jerilderie 12.7 (79).
Jerilderie’s reserves were off to a slow start against a quick Mathoura side.
It was a tough day for the Dees, however Joel Bryce kept trying to push the ball forward and provide drive for his club. Unfortunately he couldn’t stop a rampant Mathoura.
Ben Barlow kicked the only goal for the Demons on the day.
There were a lot of positives for the Dees, where they had some good passages of play.
Final score, Mathoura 9.12 (66) to Jerilderie 1.7 (13).
The Demons’ fourths side came up against a tough Mathoura.
It was a real test for the Dees with glimpses of good passages of play and moving the ball forward.
Cruz Nash provided plenty of run and continued to get the hard ball.
Angus Moloney continues to improve each week, showing great attack on the ball, Jason Ray played well up in forward taking some good marks.
